Homemade Date Cocoa Chocolate Bars (Sugar-Free)

DIY chocolate bars from melted coconut oil, soft dates and cocoa, layered with a peanut-butter and ground-poppy-seed filling. Sugar-free and set in the freezer.

Ingredients

Ingredients updated to metric measurements
  • 250 gdates

    about 24 pieces, soaked in boiling water

  • 200 mlcoconut oil

    warmed in a water bath

  • 6 tbspcocoa powder
  • 100 gground poppy seeds
  • 100 gpeanut butter

Instructions

  1. Soak 250g dates in boiling water, then pit and peel.

  2. Mash 12 dates with a fork and mix with 200ml warmed coconut oil and 6 tablespoons cocoa, then blend smooth.

  3. Pour 1/3 of the chocolate into moulds and chill to set.

  4. Mash the remaining 12 dates with 100g ground poppy seeds and 100g peanut butter and layer on top.

  5. Pour the last chocolate layer over, and chill in the fridge until fully set.
